I am looking into homeschooling my son, and wanted to know how your testing worked? Would he get on line to take the test to pass each subject?
I am a CA resident, and I am having a hard time finding information on what steps I need to take to become a home school family.
    Thank you for any advice!

    • The Good and the Beautiful

Hi Jeri! We are so glad you found us. Each state does have different laws and regulations. We suggest you research through HSLDA.org or other reputable sources what your specific state requires. Most do not require any specific testing. Parents do check for mastery throughout the courses as they teach and grade the courses. Our high school language arts contains unit checks which serve as tests of knowledge but our other subjects and levels do not contain formal tests.

Exactly what month will the math course 3 and 4 be available to buy

    • The Good and the Beautiful

Math 3 Part 1 and the Math 3-4 Activity Box are both available now so you can begin Math 3. The Math 3 Part 2 course book is anticipated in October. We do not yet have a release date for Math 4 but our team is hard at work on this level.

Are levels the same as grades? So level 4 is equivalent to grade 4?
Because I notice in writing, level 3 starts cursive where in our schools cursive doesn’t start until grade 4.
    Thank you

    • The Good and the Beautiful

Hi Sheri! Some of our curriculum is comparable to public school grades but items such as our language arts courses are considered advanced. We do have extensive samples available for each item and language arts and math level assessments so you can place your child in the correct level. We hope you love everything!

I’m considering this curriculum for my 1st grader for math and language arts … However we are not religious.. are there religious aspects in those subjects?? Thank you!!

    • The Good and the Beautiful

      Hi Veronica,
We are happy to hear that you are considering our curriculum. Yes, The Good and the Beautiful curriculum takes a general Christian worldview, focusing, not on the doctrine of any particular Christian church, but on high moral character and basic Bible principles such as gratitude, honesty, prayer, and kindness. Parents can add in their own doctrinal beliefs as desired. You can view extensive samples and even download the entire course set for Language Arts for free (Levels 1-5 are available as free downloads). This should give you a good idea of the religious content. We do have many, many secular users who modify or adapt the curriculum to fit their family. We hope you love it!
