Such a great book for encouraging nature exploration! Teaches kids about various mammals and their tracks, habitats & habits. There are beautiful photos and paintings inside and my seven-year-old was so delighted to discover moose tracks on our property after reading (and loving!) this book with me.

We loved this book. It was so fun that it was interactive m—my kids really enjoyed trying to figure out what each animal was. My 4 year old had read it and re-read this too many times to count. Definitely a favorite.

All of my kids, ages 5-14, enjoyed this book. We love nature journaling and hiking, so we’re often tracking animals out in nature. This book helped them refine their skills. They would get so excited when they guessed the tracks correctly! I would choose the most interesting facts off the description pages to share with my short attention span kiddos, but my animal-loving kids loved every little tidbit of information on each and every page!

We really enjoyed this interesting and interactive book about mammals. The illustrations are well done, and the clues and tracks make it feel like a game.

Have you ever noticed animal tracks in the mud or the snow? Do you know what animal left those tracks? Did you pause to consider where that animal was going, what it was doing, or where it lived? A tree with claw scratches, a tuft of fur, a paw print, or a dropped feather may be all you have to go by. In this book, become a detective of mammal tracks and signs by searching for clues in the scene. See if you can figure out what animal left the tracks and signs, and then turn the page to see if you are right!

Become a nature detective by learning the tracks and signs of ten different mammals!
