We loved this book. My littles have read it multiple times and really enjoyed it. The pictures are just beautiful.
This is a cute story of a boy and his family visiting the sea and the dunes. It brings back the days of family vacations exploring nature. It highlights family, nature, and tradition.
This book reminded us of time spent in the Outer Banks catching crabs, collecting seashells, and climbing up the sand dunes to watch the sunset. I read this aloud to my children, but my early readers are glad they can read this one on their own too.
We loved the story of Dax, his adventures at the dunes and the sweet way he helps his sister to have a happy experience. My little guy read me the parts he thought were funny! We only took off a star because although the illustrations were really great, they were black and white and we missed the color!
This is another wonderful reader that is pro family. I love how the characters in this book cherish their family and relationships. It also shows how family traditions can strengthen the family and are passed on. Love that my kids are reading books with these kinds of messages!
Ever since Dax read a book about sand dunes, he couldn’t wait to go visit them and see them for himself. Will he get to go, and what will he do when he gets there? A whole new world is awaiting Dax and his family—see what they might find.
