We love Emma! This book is such a wonderful story and the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. My 9-year-old has read it several times now. I’m so happy we added Emma’s Art to our library.
My children already speak with the love language of writing love notes and drawing pictures to give to others, so this book was really meaningful to them. C. liked that Kate and Emma gave cards to each other. It was fun to finish reading this on the same day that we had a language arts level 1 lesson on writing thank you cards!
My daughter loves this book. She isn’t able to read it yet, but stayed very focused while I read it cover-to-cover. She loves that it incorporates art — and I love that it incorporates kindness.
This is such a lovely story of how the wonder of art and the beauty of giving can go hand in hand.
There are a lot of Level 1 words in this book for children to practice, while reading a story about how they can do something kind with their art. If they follow Emma’s example, they’ll practice writing too!
Emma loves art! She loves to paint, and she loves to make people smile. When she finds a way to do both, it makes for a very fun day! Filled with beautiful illustrations, this heart-warming story shows the value of friendship and caring for others, while encouraging your child’s own creativity.
