Helen Keller—Into the Light
by Shannen Yauger
Inspiration for Young Readers
I’ve always found Helen Keller’s story to be inspiring, so I’m thrilled that her story’s being retold for young readers to enjoy too. I also learned a couple new things in this book. I didn’t know that Helen Keller enjoyed going to concerts to FEEL the music or that she liked working in the garden. She must’ve had the best sense of touch and smell!
Amazing book on Helen Keller's Life
Wow! My kids and I just loved this book. I love that my son could read it himself. We especially loved the pages that showed how to make the letters in sign language and the pages that showed what braille lettering looks like. We are now all wanting to learn sign language!
One of My Daughter's Favorites
Beautifully filled with details, while still remaining “readable” to emerging readers. A lovely story of strength and determination, with an underlying lesson of thankfulness.
Wonderful summary of Helen Keller's Life
This is an awesome, age appropriate description of Helen Keller’s life. My kids are fascinated with her story and I’m excited that my younger kids have an accessible way to read about her amazing life, all on their own!
Beautiful Intro to Helen Keller for Young Readers
Wonderful young reader book! The pictures are beautiful. My children thought it was so fun to include the ASL alphabet. The story covers a lot of Helen’s life while still remaining simple for young readers.
