My 6 year old absolutely adores this book. Beautiful story, pictures, and moral. An enjoyable read, she picked it up on her own this morning and read the entire thing out loud. Her reading skills have skyrocketed in the past few weeks just from TG&TB’s books and language arts curriculum!
This was the first book my daughter read cover to cover without stopping because she was so interested! Lovely moral to the story and beautiful illustrations too.
This is one of our absolute favorites from the Gold Tale Series. Beautiful illustrations and all about nature. My daughter calls this “her” book and she re-reads it to everyone she can!
My daughter has been dragging her feet a little with reading. She doesn’t hate it, but also doesn’t devour all books like her older brother does. I bought it and figured I would wait a few months before I gave it to her so she could advance a bit more in her reading skills, but she caught sight of it and kept telling me she could read it. I guess the cover was pretty appealing! It was definitely a bit above her level, but she took it and read right through the whole thing in two days and then told me it was her favorite book. So worth it!
A touching story of how happiness comes from family love and caring for others, as opposed to wealth and power as the world teaches.
What can you give a king who already has all that money can buy? Perhaps something he does not yet know to treasure. Jane and the King, a beautifully written and illustrated tale, reminds us that it is often the simple joys in life that are the most profound and rewarding—especially when shared with those we love. Join young Jane as she helps a wealthy, discontented king find true happiness in unexpected ways.
