Jeannie Marie is so kind for giving her best friend away to a girl.
My daughter loved this story. The little girl shows true sacrifice for others. She does disobey but learns from her disobedience.
Great book. My daughter won’t stop talking about it and I love it 🥰
Jeanne-Marie and her Golden Bird is a sweet story about a French girl who wants a canary most in the world. Jeanne-Marie makes some mistakes and in the end we see her generous nature. The setting is city and country life.
Hi, I’m ten I thought that this book was wonderful: the story of a girl and how she gets a golden bird. And how she gave it up to a girl who was sick and she got a new one for the behavior she did for the little girl. Whenever the golden bird threw back its head and sang I imagined it throwing back its head as far as it could and singing at the top of its lungs like LA LA LAAAAA!!!! I give this book a five out of five stars because it’s an amazing story. I think that you should get this for your girl if she is a level four or five reader for The Good and the Beautiful. There are a few words I could not pronounce though, but I’m only ten 😉
Sweet little French girl Jeanne-Marie thinks canaries are the most beautiful birds in the whole world–and that Poli is the most beautiful canary with the prettiest song she has ever heard. Having a canary for her very own is within her grasp as she stays with her Aunt Sophie while her parents are away…that is, until Jeanne-Marie makes a big mistake. Follow Jeanne-Marie’s adventure as she lives her little town to spend a summer and a winter on her grandparent’s farm. This book is full of mishaps and forgiveness, kindness and caring, and through it all–a mystery. For where has Poli gone? Even as weeks pass by, Jeanne-Marie never gives up hope of finding her golden bird, but eventually she surprises even herself with her generous and kind spirit.
