J. read this aloud, his second chapter book. Very sweet story that makes serving others seem like a fun adventure.
A. liked that the boys were helping people.
C. liked that the story took place on a hot day. It made her think of summer. She also gave it 5*. I was impressed with her growing fluency while reading this book. She started it before Christmas and had a pretty long break before picking it back up.
We really enjoyed this book about helping out others and how it brings US joy to bring THEM joy.
My daughter picked up reading quickly and surprised me how soon she was ready for more difficult books. This story, however, she just enjoyed and read it over and over again. Now my 3 yr old loves it and asks to read it all the time. Sometimes it’s hard to invest in early readers when you feel kids will outgrow them quickly, but it seems this one will see pretty regular use for several years in our house.
My kindergartener had so much fun reading this book! At the end of each chapter he loved to try and guess what the brothers would do next to help someone. It was great for reading practice and also such a wonderful message!
This is definitely a beginner chapter book. It is so encouraging to read the story and see how my kiddos tried to mimic the actions. Definitely worth the purchase!
