Tips for Downloading and Printing
The mission of The Good and the Beautiful is to make homeschool affordable and simple for families around the world.
Jenny Phillips, owner and founder of The Good and the Beautiful, strongly believes that any family should be able to homeschool their children using high-quality, character-building, family-strengthening curriculum. For this reason, we even offer some of our curriculum as FREE PDF downloads. Â
Many families find that purchasing pre-printed curriculum saves them money, even when adding in international shipping costs. Be sure to factor in all printing and binding costs before printing from home or sending your downloaded curriculum to a printing company. Physical items purchased directly from The Good and the Beautiful are often less expensive and are higher quality.
If you choose to print your curriculum, use the suggestions on this page to make downloading and printing from home easier for you. Please be aware that each printer/system is unique and these suggestions may not work for everyone.
While all our courses come as both physical books or downloadable PDFs, some courses use online components or mobile apps. For answers to commonly asked questions about our apps, visit our Apps page.

Free Downloads
How do I download the free courses?
Download files directly to a computer with a strong internet connection. Files are large and typically do not download or open easily on phones or tablets.Â
Here are some more downloading tips:
- Turn off pop-up blockers in your browser’s settings.
- Our free Language Arts Levels K–8 and Math K–8 courses, as well as our Marine Biology science unit, can be found at goodandbeautiful.com/pages/free and will begin downloading automatically once you have entered your email address and clicked “Sign up and begin download.”
- Free download files will appear through your browser’s download icon 📥, which can be found in your browser’s menu bar. Click to open your “downloads in progress.” Once your file has completely downloaded, click the file to open it. If you cannot find your browser’s downloads, use your computer’s (not your browser’s) search bar and search “download” to open your downloaded files.
Why won’t my browser download the file?
Some internet browsers work better than others with our large files. If your download does not work, try downloading the file using a different browser.
Why won’t my file download on my mobile device?
- Ad/pop-up blockers may be enabled on your device. Read “How to Disable Ad/Pop-Up Blockers” below for instructions.
- Download files directly to a computer or laptop first, and then, if desired, transfer the download to your hard drive or cloud.
- If you have used all 10 download attempts allowed, please contact our support team at support@goodandbeautiful.com, and they will be happy to send a new link.

Purchased Downloads
How do I access my purchased downloads?
- Log in to your account before completing your order at checkout for all purchases. This will allow you to view your order history and corresponding download links, and it ensures that you receive your digital downloads in your email.
- Purchased downloads are accessible via links in your invoice email, which will arrive in your email inbox. If you do not see an email immediately after purchase, check your spam and junk folders. Be sure to add us to your contact list to ensure we will land in your inbox in the future. If you still do not see it, contact our support team at support@goodandbeautiful.com to have the invoice re-sent.
- Please note that all PDF and MP3 purchases are final sale and cannot be exchanged, refunded, or canceled.
How do I save my purchased download?
- Click on the download link in your invoice. The file will go to your Downloads folder.
- Right click to Save As and save the download in the location of your choice.
Why won’t my file download on my mobile device?
- Mobile devices do not always allow third-party downloads. Attempting to download onto a mobile device will likely cause your links to expire. If you have used all 10 download attempts allowed, or if your link has expired, please contact our support team at support@goodandbeautiful.com, and they will be happy to send a new link.
- Ad/pop-up blockers may be enabled on your device. Read “How to Disable Ad/Pop-Up Blockers” below for instructions.

Printing Helps

Printing Full-Page Content
How do I print my course at home?
- All courses can be printed single- or double-sided. Pre-printed courses are all printed double-sided, and files include blank pages to allow for cutting activities on double-sided pages.Â
- To print double-sided, print the unit or course without the cover. This ensures that the pages print correctly back-to-back. Then print the cover separately.
- After opening in Adobe Acrobat (preferred PDF program), use the Print as Image setting found by clicking on the Advanced button to ensure all images on the pages will print.
- Print in color. Most of our courses are thoughtfully designed in full color. To ensure full usability, we recommend printing your courses in full color.
- Select Portrait or Landscape according to the course layout.
Why did my course print incorrectly or stop printing?
- If the images do not print or if content is missing from the page, check to see that you chose Print as Image in your printer settings.Â
- If the fronts don’t match the backs, check the orientation settings on your print screen. For landscape printing, choose “flip on short edge.” For portrait printing, choose “flip on long edge.”
- If printing stops before finishing the print job, check the paper tray or your printer connection.Â
- Course files are large. Consider sending the course to print one unit at a time if your printer cannot handle printing a full course in one job. Print the covers separately to ensure double-sided printing is successful.
What paper should I use for printing?
Paper weight and paper brightness affect color. Typical copy paper is 20 lb and 92 bright. For more vivid color printing, choose copy paper closer to 32 lb and 98 bright. (24 lb and 28 lb paper also produce quality color copies.)

Printing Booklets
How do I print readers and booster cards?
- Select Booklet and Double-Sided printing for readers and booster cards.
- Print only a few pages first to ensure that double-sided printing is best aligned for cutting purposes.Â
- Explore your printer settings or program’s help section on your computer for additional guidance.
- Use a different viewer or update the program used to view PDFs. Many people have success using the most updated version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to open and print courses.
