Family-Style Science Units

The family-style science unit studies are designed for students in grades 3–8. There are 19 unit studies to choose from.

  • We recommend families complete 3–5 science units per year.
  • Units can be completed in any order.
  • Courses include helpful videos, hands-on experiments and engaging activities.
  • Science units average 12–14 lessons each.
  • Purchase one course book for your family and an age-appropriate student journal for each child.

Family-Style History

Grades 3–8

The full-color, family-style History Year 1 and History Year 2 courses for grades 3–8 promote truth, spark critical thinking, and encourage family interaction. 

  • Start with History Year 1.
  • Complete one family-style history course per year.
  • Each course contains four units, covering ancient through modern history.
  • Use the Time Line Book and Time Tunnel Review Cards throughout all four courses.

Note: History Year 1 and History Year 2 released in 2025. History Year 3 is scheduled to release late July 2026 followed by History Year 4 by the end of 2026.

US Constitution and Government is a 32-lesson course recommended for grades 4–8. Kindergartners–third graders can follow along using the US Constitution Activity Book.

Level 8 Book Studies Language Arts

Each Level 8 Book Study contains self-guided lessons that lead the student through the chosen book as he or she studies language arts, geography, and art.

Items needed to complete a book study: the book study booklet, the novel, Grammar and Writing Guide (this non-consumable guide is also used for the high school courses), a blank (unlined) notebook for writing and drawing, and art supplies specific to each book study.

Why were the book studies created?
The Good and the Beautiful curriculum has no Level 8 Language Arts course. The language arts courses go from Level 7 to the high school courses. Level 8 Book Studies are designed for students who have completed the Level 7 Language Arts Course but do not want to start high school courses yet.
