Job Objectives

  1. Prevent out of stock and overselling events
  2. Ensure received and shipped product quality remains high
  3. Support purchasing team in procurement objectives

Required Education and Experience

  1. Purchasing and inventory management experience 
  2. Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets)
  3. Bachelor's Degree (Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field) - preferred not required 
  4. Warehouse experience - preferred not required

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Expected hours: 40 per week.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain and improve purchasing tools to accomplish job objectives.  
  • Ensure warehouse and sales data (inventory, product sales rates, and out-of-stock data) is up to date and accurate to:
    • Prevent out of stock and overselling events
    • Support management in setting purchasing targets and sales forecasting
    • Support purchasing team in purchasing decisions (quantities to purchase, which printer to use, when to purchase, etc.).
  • Manages website inventory and works with customer relations on inventory change events (low stock, out-of-stock,  re-stocking, new releases, etc) 
  • Ensure high quality products are received. Work with the purchasing team to review, receive, and approve newly received  inventory. 
  • Ensure high quality products are shipped. Work with the operations team to ensure quality products are shipped. 
  • Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams to ensure smooth roll-out of new releases (shrink wrapping planning, stickers, storage, pulling area slots, etc)
  • Works closely with Warehouse Manager to ensure inventory management system is data is accurate and up to date. Provide input to improve processes.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse Manager to optimize use of inventory space
  • Purchase curriculum related items (bags, stickers, magnets, etc.)
  • Purchase warehouse and shipping supplies, equipment, and tools
  • Issues weekly product/stock report (out of stock items and back in stock estimate, new release and associated components scheduling dates)

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisories. However, the position will work closely with the Warehouse Manager in executing their responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 pounds. 

Be able to pull/push upto 500 lbs. Pallets. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
