Copied from my review of the A books as we have them all.
My older child was a precocious reader. We had the Scholastic first little readers A and B and he taught himself to read with them. So when my youngest started to sight read and ask me to slowly point out each word as I was reading to her, I got his old readers out for her. She wasn’t interested.
I got these Beginner Books from the Good and the Beautiful and she LOVES them. She wants to read every single one of them every day and has already picked up new sight words. Plus the content is so sweet, nothing rude.
The words are a little boring for an adult, as most readers are but the art is so beautiful it makes up for it.
Very cute stories and great pictures! My son wanted to read through them as fast as he could and read to family members to show off his reading skills. They are the perfect length and perfect for beginner readers.
These beginning books match up perfectly with what they learn in LA level K. It gave my son alot of confidence as he used what he learned.
This set was a great step up from Set A. My son was excited that he could read all the way through these. Zig Zag was probably his favorite one, but they are all great. Seeing his confidence and enthusiasm for reading these makes me so happy! The pictures surpass other very early readers that we have, and we all love them. I do wish the covers were a little sturdier on these boxed beginner readers, but it doesn’t deter me from purchasing all 4 sets available!
We have just began these but we are loving them so much! We did do A first and they pair amazing with Level K curriculum. These are the perfect little books for young readers and my son chooses them over the Scholastic books any day
This adorable box set of ten Beginner Books is the perfect confidence-builder for children who know the sounds of the letters and are ready to start reading.
With only simple 2–3 letter words and a short set of sight words listed at the front of each book, children will feel joy in their ability to read and understand each fun story.
Slightly more advanced than the books in Box A, these books are perfect for children who have just completed The Good and the Beautiful Level K Primer course. They are also highly suggested to complete the Level K Language Arts course. Complete the full Beginner Books Set by adding Beginner Books Box A, Beginner Books Box C, and Beginner Books Box D.
