We started with the BOB books but the illustrations drove me mad being all scribbled and unattractive. The kids somewhat enjoyed them but it was more of a plodding through learning to read. Then we began TGBT curriculum and these books are awesome. yes, they are like pamplets but they are simple and sweet with beautiful illustrations that grab my kids attention. My 4yo has mastered the beginner a&b books and it has made him so proud to be able to read to his bigger sister. I’ve been happy with my purchase and am now working through the c&d bundles with my youngest. The readers have helped him so much he is now grabbing the level 1s and reading those too (with a little help).
I’m thrilled with these books because they don’t dumb down the content. With their wonderful illustrations, engaging story lines, and beginner words, The Good and the Beautiful Beginner Books are perfect for developing readers. My young daughter is highly motivated to read these books even when she’s already read them, and what’s more—I enjoy them too.
This books are beautiful and definitely a notch above other beginner books. Unfortunately, they were a bit too easy for my son, and because they didn’t hold any real stories, they didn’t hold his interest. He is much happier reading box C and D. These are more the level of BOB books and other absolute beginner books. They have their place; I just got them a few months too late for my little guy.
My children love these! When my older child (7) wants to have something ‘easy’ to read, he’ll reach for these to not feel overwhelmed by a large amount of words on a page. My 5 year old enjoys the pictures and practicing his reading like his older brother.
A beautiful collection of books for a beginner reader. The small size of the books are perfect for little hands. My son carries them around everywhere to read them.
This adorable box set of ten Beginner Books is the perfect confidence-builder for children who know the sounds of the letters and are ready to start reading.
With only simple 2–3 letter words and a short set of sight words listed at the front of each book, children will feel joy in their ability to read and understand each fun story.
Slightly more advanced than the books in Box A, these books are perfect for children who have just completed The Good and the Beautiful Level K Primer course. They are also highly suggested to complete the Level K Language Arts course. Complete the full Beginner Books Set by adding Beginner Books Box A, Beginner Books Box C, and Beginner Books Box D.
