Slave Boy in Judea
by Josephine Sanger Lau
Endearing Story full of adventure!
We read this story as a recommended book with TGTB history. My children (3 boys) loved this action packed book! They could really relate to the character of Madoc and the difficult decisions he faced in his life. This book makes a wonderful addition to our library.
Slave Boy in Judea
We did this as a read-aloud and I enjoyed it just as much as my boys 7-9 yrs. A beautiful story of a change of heart and following Christ; even the most unexpected hearts can change.
Great read
My 8 year old boy and I really enjoyed this book. It tells of a boy going through hardship and all the emotions of being torn away from your family but finding peace in a new perspective through Jesus Christ. The story pulled us into the era and gave a great perspective of the teachings of Christ.
Loved
I watched my 10 year old son read this book. He love it and was so into the story. He gave it the 5 star rating.
This is such a good book!
We are almost finished with this book and it has been so good! I love that it mentions Jesus having been there and that he comes across people that are trying to live his gospel and the main characters are changed by Him. This is one of my favorite history read alouds we have read so far.

Level 6
Captured by Romans in the forests of Gaul, Madoc is sold as a slave to a Roman centurion stationed in Judea. Though he is not a hard master, Madoc is determined to escape and find his mother. However, the story takes a turn when Madoc and his master meet followers of Jesus and hear about the new way of living he taught. This story is not only engaging and packed with great messages, but it also teaches about the historical time period and the growing influence of the early Christian faith.
