I bought this book but hadn’t shared it with my daughter yet. She saw it on the bookcase and couldn’t wait to peek inside. She loves looking at the birds and listening as I read her facts about each one. Now she wants to see a Gouldian finch in real life! We both love this book. It’s beautiful and has so much great information for young minds (and moms!)
We have spent hours as a family loving this book. I picked it up at the storefront. Originally, I didn’t buy it to go with our bird unit. However, after seeing the inside I fell in love and so did my children. This book is wonderful information, gorgeous photography, and one of the best non fiction books for birds. I loved the parts labeled with the magnifying glass, those parts ask questions, tell things to look for, and more. This book engages my children so they can learn and love birds even more.
Whether it’s a whistle, a chirp, a trill, or a “wichety-wichety,” songbirds around the world sure know how to make a joyful noise! With this field guide as your companion, you will learn about the habitats and behaviors of 20 different songbirds, each of them so different and yet so beautiful. The more you discover about these fascinating creatures, the more you will want to grab a pair of binoculars and meet the songbirds in your own backyard!
