All levels of our Summer Reading Packs are permanently out of stock. However, your children can still participate in our Summer Reading Program! Download the summer reading logs and bookmarks for free and purchase the books for your child's particular level below!
Good books are powerful. They invite us to slow down and think deeply. They help us to cultivate patience, empathy, wisdom, and moral character. They inspire us to be happier, kinder people. All the books your children read over the years add up, so be intentional about what they read.
The Summer Reading Program from The Good and the Beautiful aims to open up the world to your children with good books so they can fly high and reach places they never dreamed! What they read really does make a difference in who they will become in this life. Join us!
To go along with the free download of the Summer Reading Pack materials, we recommend the following books from The Good and the Beautiful Bookshop for these suggested levels:
- Grades K–1 | We recommend Ann and Hans of the Swiss Alps: Book 1 NEW BOOK!
- Grades 2–4 | We recommend The Secret Door: Badger Hills Farm: Book 1
- Grades 5–6 | We recommend The Legend of Bluebell Forest: Book 1 NEW BOOK!

*The Kingdom of Stars books are Young Adult level books meant for those 18 and up. The reading level of these books is similar to our high school books; however, our YA+ books may contain major themes of romance or more mature themes while staying with The Good and the Beautiful standards of promoting moral, wholesome behavior.

How does the program work?
1. Scroll down to download the FREE Summer Reading Pack PDF below and print out the reading chart, stickers, and bookmark at home. Each pack contains these free items:
- Reading Log to track progress (one for Levels K–6 + sticker sheet; one for Levels 7+)
- 1 bookmark (one for Levels K–6; one for Levels 7+)
2. Choose books from The Good and the Beautiful Bookshop or from The Good and the Beautiful Book List to read during the summer. After each book is read, the child will write the book title on the chart and put a sticker on the scene.
3. After reading 5 books, the reading log is complete, and your child can receive a reward of your choosing, such as a book from The Good and the Beautiful Bookshop, a camp out in the backyard, an ice cream party, or any other special prize.
*Note: Although you will not receive a free book with the PDF download, you can still purchase the books below that are being given away in the Summer Reading Packs. We recommend the following books from The Good and the Beautiful Bookshop:
