My daughter get easily frustrated with books that are a bit too hard. This was easy to grab with the curriculum and right on level with where she is reading
I love that Jane manages to find a wonderful non-material gift for the king who has it all. This is a delightful story with a lovely message and lovely illustrations.
I love this book so much! I love the illustrations and the beauty of the story. My daughter carries this book around with her constantly as she can now read it completely to herself and often reads it over facetime to her grandmothers. The moral is a wonderful lesson and my nature-loving kids enjoy this so much. I highly recommend this book (it is our favorite of the Gold Tales books).
I would definitely recommend this book. It has beautiful illustrations to go along with such a sweet powerful message. My girls and I have read it over and over. They are ages 4, 6, & 7.
My 8 year old daughter loved this. We usually do one chapter for her “shared reading” with the LA level 1. She begged me to keep reading, and when it was done, she said She wished there was more!
What can you give a king who already has all that money can buy? Perhaps something he does not yet know to treasure. Jane and the King, a beautifully written and illustrated tale, reminds us that it is often the simple joys in life that are the most profound and rewarding—especially when shared with those we love. Join young Jane as she helps a wealthy, discontented king find true happiness in unexpected ways.
