Your login information for courses.goodandbeautiful.com uses the same email address and password you use when you log in to goodandbeautiful.com. You may be experiencing issues due to one of the following reasons:

  • When you log in to goodandbeautiful.com, the Shop login may take over. The Shop login doesn’t use the same password that you have for our website, which is why you may be successful at logging into our website and not the courses page.

Can multiple students access their courses at courses.goodandbeautiful.com at the same time on different devices?

Yes. When using courses.goodandbeautiful.com, each student needs to be logged in to your Good and Beautiful account. Then the student should select their student profile and choose their desired course. The student will pick up where they left off in their previous session.

If you see an error message saying “Out of Sync,” check to make sure each student is on their correct profile and that the student’s profile is not open on any other devices or on other tabs on your browser.

Why am I getting an “Out of Sync” error message on courses.goodandbeautiful.com?

If you see an error message saying “Out of Sync,” check to make sure each student is on their correct profile and that the student’s profile is not open on any other devices or on other tabs on your browser.

Why am I getting an error code and having trouble logging in to courses.goodandbeautiful.com?

These error codes often occur because your browser can't or won't connect to our login system. The browser doesn't give us a specific reason for the error. Here are some recommendations that may solve this problem for you:

  • Try an incognito or private browser window.
  • Use a different browser (we recommend Chrome for an optimal experience).
  • Use a different wifi or network connection (school, employer, and some home wifi networks may have aggressive blocking systems).
  • Use a different device.
  • Ensure that first-party cookies are allowed on the browser.
  • Double-check parental controls and filters to allow our site.
  • Disable any browser extensions that may block our site.

We would love to give more specific guidance, but for valid security reasons, browsers do not allow us (The Good and the Beautiful) to see the settings on your computer or network or to see how these systems and settings might be blocking your attempt to log in.

How do I switch between students or courses on courses.goodandbeautiful.com?

If you are currently in a student’s lesson and are ready to switch to a different student or course, click on “Switch student or course” in the left column. Then choose the student and course you want to jump to in the pop-up menu.

New students can be added at any time from the “Teacher Dashboard.”

Do I need more than one account if I have multiple children?

No, you can create multiple student profiles with one family account. Additionally, each child can access their online course content on different devices at the same time.

Why is a PIN required for Good and Beautiful Simply Spelling? Can I turn it off?

A PIN is required at the end of every session so the parent can verify that the student has completed the extra practice of writing the words he or she missed.

If you don’t want to verify via PIN, there is a setting for the course that turns the end-of-session PIN off.

Click on “Settings” > “Teacher Dashboard” > Student’s Name > “Settings” on the “Simply Spelling” button. Toggle on or off four features, including the PIN requirement at the end of sessions and the option to view your student’s missed words.

Where can I find my student’s missed Good and Beautiful Simply Spelling words?

To view your student’s missed words in Simply Spelling, click on “Settings” > “Teacher Dashboard” > Student’s Name > “Settings” on the “Simply Spelling” button > “Missed Words” button.

Does Good and Beautiful Simply Spelling work on a phone or tablet?

You can access courses.goodandbeautiful.com from your phone or tablet in your internet browser. However, because there is typing involved, we recommend using a laptop or desktop for Simply Spelling. If you choose to use a mobile device, it is highly recommended that you use an external keyboard for the course.

How do I go back to a previous session in Good and Beautiful Simply Spelling?

Simply Spelling is an adaptive program that is completely customized to each individual child. The online course follows the pace of the child’s learning to help them practice only spelling words and concepts they have not yet mastered. Because it is an adaptive program, there is no way to move back to a previous session. Simply Spelling stores the words that the student has mastered, as well as the words that are missed, so it can track what still needs to be repeated for mastery.

If you would like to reset a spelling section that your child is currently completing, there is a reset button on the top-right corner of the app. You can choose to reset just the section your student is on (Words, Homophones and Commonly Confused Words, Rules, or Principles) or choose to reset the whole section so they start over from the beginning at Words. The Teacher PIN is required to reset the section. Please note that resetting will erase the student’s progress for that section or session.

If you would like your student to completely restart the course, you can reset Simply Spelling for that student by deleting their student profile and creating a new one. Any previous progress on the original student profile will not be saved unless you choose not to delete their original profile.

How do I get my computer to stop autocorrecting my student’s answers in Good and Beautiful Simply Spelling?

Make sure all browser extensions for grammar and spelling are turned off during the session. Also make sure any on-screen keyboards have suggestive spelling turned off.

How do I have my child go back to the beginning of Good and Beautiful Simply Spelling?

To have your student start from the beginning of Simply Spelling, you can delete the student profile and create a new one in the Teacher Dashboard.

How do I adjust the settings in Good and Beautiful Simply Spelling, and what settings can I adjust?

You can adjust the settings by going to the “Settings” menu on the left side panel. Click the Teacher Dashboard to access and manage the students and settings for each student. You can turn off the end-of-session PIN, the autoplay audio, and the autoplay video for each student.

You can also add, edit, or delete students from the account. Please note that deleting a student will delete all of their progress and data.

There is also an “App Settings” option in the “Settings” menu where you can adjust the zoom of the app to make the screen larger or smaller.

How can I see my child’s progress on Good and Beautiful Simply Spelling?

A PIN is required at the end of every exercise so that the parent can verify that the student has completed the extra practice of writing the words he or she missed. Missed words, homophones, rules, or principles will be reviewed in upcoming sessions until the student masters them.

To view your student’s missed words in Simply Spelling, click on “Settings” > “Teacher Dashboard” > Student’s Name > “Settings” on the “Simply Spelling” button > “Missed Words” button.

Can I reset my child’s answer in Good and Beautiful Simply Spelling when they made an accidental mistake on a word they know how to spell?

Yes. Click “Reset” in the top right corner above the five-dot progress bar. You can choose to “Reset Section” (the activity your student is on: Words, Homophones and Commonly Confused Words, Rules, or Principles) or choose to “Reset Session” so they start over from the beginning of the current session at Words. Your teacher PIN is required to reset the section or session. Please note that resetting the section or session will erase the student’s progress for that section or session.

  • When you reset your password, it isn’t being saved correctly in your password manager (if you have one).
  • If you change your password on goodandbeautiful.com, a password manager won’t realize that it is the same account for typing.goodandbeautiful.com. You will need to update your password in your password manager.

We recommend the following:

  1. Log in to the website at goodandbeautiful.com/account/login first after resetting your password before you log into typing.goodandbeautiful.com.
  2. When you reset your password, the password manager on your device may not recognize the new password when signing into the online resources. Please type your password instead of letting it autopopulate. You can then save your updated password.

Why am I getting an error code and having trouble logging in to typing.goodandbeautiful.com?

These error codes often occur because your browser can't or won't connect to our login system. The browser doesn't give us a specific reason for the error. Here are some recommendations that may solve this problem for you:

  • Try an incognito or private browser window.
  • Use a different browser (we recommend Chrome for an optimal experience).
  • Use a different wifi or network connection (school and employer wifi networks and some home networks may have aggressive blocking systems).

Frequently Asked Questions About the Free Letter Tiles App

What is the Letter Tiles app?

Our free Letter Tiles app is integrated with Levels K–3 Language Arts spelling words. The course book lesson will direct you when to use the Letter Tiles app and list the spelling words your child is to practice. Children practice spelling words by building them with movable letter tiles, or they can use the “Practice a–z” board to spell any word.

This app features a gentle design without sounds or flashing lights so your child can focus on spelling. Letter Tiles is purposefully simple to allow parents to participate actively in their child’s spelling work while providing a fun and kinesthetic spelling experience. There is no self-check function built into the app, so parents should check each word as it is spelled.
