The 120 parent-led lessons in the Level K Course Book are open-and-go and cover over 80 foundational principles, such as phonics, spelling, homophones, plural nouns, capitalization, discussing literature, art appreciation, poetry memorization, using appropriate pencil grip, writing fiction and nonfiction, oral narration, reading comprehension, studying and creating maps, starting sentences with capital letters, and so much more. All of this is taught in gentle, natural, and enjoyable ways for the child.
Each lesson in the Level K Course Book will direct you to work on the beautiful and fun Reading Booster Cards and/or Books. Each card focuses on a certain phonics principle or a group of kindergarten sight words. Review cards are placed intermittently throughout the cards. These Reading Booster Cards will also tell you when to read the Reading Booster Books. These adorable and fascinating books correlate directly with each card.
The Reading Booster A Books Set includes 20 adorable and fascinating books that correlate directly with the Reading Booster A Cards. The Reading Booster Cards will tell you when to read the Reading Booster Books. These books can be read as many times as desired for review and for cementing principles.
Each book focuses on just one or a select few reading concepts, phonics principles, word families, or kindergarten sight word groups that were just learned on the corresponding Reading Booster Card. The books also only contain words including phonics principles the child has not already learned.
My First Nature Reader includes 20 short books for brand-new readers. Each book focuses on one or two phonics concepts or groups of kindergarten sight words and My First Nature Reader follows the exact scope and sequence of the Reading Booster A Cards
The Good and the Beautiful My First Readers are designed to give the child extra independent reading practice at exactly the level the child is on, which boosts confidence and makes reading less overwhelming and a more enjoyable and positive experience.
Level K Handwriting focuses on correct print formation of letters and numbers and, near the end of the course, introduces short words and sentences.
This workbook includes 100 sheets, which is 3–4 sheets per week for an average school year. Halfway through the course the text size is reduced as the child gains the motor skills for smaller print. The course introduces 2–3 new letters at a time, going in alphabetical order.
