A true treasure for young readers

April 28, 2021

My 7-year-old read this book aloud to me. I love the story of Helen Keller, so I was thrilled to see a simplified version for the young reader. The language was easy to follow but the story was true to history and brought up many interesting discussion points for my son and I. This is definitely a must-read.

Inspired

This biography was perfect for my young reader. She loved that Helen was a real girl who lived. The story is written so well that my girl on her own, wrote a story about being Helen Keller’s friend and what it would have been like to be there for her. It really is written in a perfect way to connect a young reader to someone from our history.

Introduction to Helen Keller

December 9, 2020

This is a great early biography to introduce children to Helen Keller. The chapters are just the right length and illustrations are great, especially the signs. Biographies are great way to learn about the difficulties of other people and how they overcame them. This one is no exception.

Inspiration for Young Readers

October 13, 2020

I’ve always found Helen Keller’s story to be inspiring, so I’m thrilled that her story’s being retold for young readers to enjoy too. I also learned a couple new things in this book. I didn’t know that Helen Keller enjoyed going to concerts to FEEL the music or that she liked working in the garden. She must’ve had the best sense of touch and smell!
